Congregation Dor Tamid was created when Congregation B'nai Dorot and Temple Shir Shalom were united on July 1, 2004. The result was a vibrant 225-family reform Jewish congregation in the North Atlanta Metro area, serving North Fulton, Gwinnett and Forsyth counties.

Shortly after the merger (July 2005), CDT purchased 10 acres of land off Parsons Road in Johns Creek to build a permanent home for our fast-growing congregation. At this time, the Leveteynu (To Our Home) Capital Campaign began. A noted architectural firm with temple design experience was hired to design the beautiful building with unique features including the flexibility to build in multiple phases. Our newly built synagogue opened in late Summer 2008.

Dor Tamid is now a 2nd home to almost 300 families and continues to grow. We welcome Jewish people of diverse identities as well as inter-faith families.

Our community is made up of singles and families located in many different cities in the northern suburbs of Atlanta. We welcome anyone interested in being a part of our congregation. Specifically, our members live in… Alpharetta, Atlanta, Buford, Cumming, Dacula, Dawsonville, Decatur, Duluth, Dunwoody, Flowery Branch, Gainesville, Hoschton, Johns Creek, Lawrenceville, Lilburn, Marietta, Milton, Norcross, & Roswell.
