Molly’s Challah Recipe



4 Cups  Flour

1 ½ teaspoon salt

1/3 cup sugar

1 table spoon active dry yeast

2 eggs (1 for recipe 1 for wash)

¼ cup oil

1 cup warm water



Pre-heat oven 350 degrees.


Mix dry ingredients except the salt (flour, sugar and yeast).

Add the salt and then mix again.


Add egg and oil to the dry ingredients and continue mixing (in a stand-mixer with a dough hook is the easiest).  Slowly add the water and knead until you get smooth soft dough.


Let dough rise for about an hour, covered with a towel.  Then braid into a favorite shape.

Let the dough rise again for 20 min.


Egg wash the challah and bake for 30-35 minutes.


Molly’s Shakshukah Recipe


2 Tbsp. Olive Oil

1 medium onion, diced

1 red bell pepper, seeded and diced

1 garlic clove, finely chopped

2 tsp. sweet paprika

2 tsp. chicken soup powder (parve)

1 28-ounce can diced peeled tomatoes

1 14-ounce can of tomato sauce

6-8 large eggs

Salt and Pepper to taste

1 small bunch fresh parsley, chopped

Baked Cauliflower Head


1 Cauliflower head

1/2 cup Mayonaise

2 Tbsp. Onion Soup Mix

1/4 cup bread brumbs or matzoh meal



Israeli Meatballs with Rice


For the Meatballs:

2 lbs. ground beef or 1 lb. ground beef and 1 lb. ground turkey

1 chopped onion

1/4 cup chopped parsley

1 egg

1/2 cup bread crumbs (or matzoh meal if making for Passover)

1/4 cup oil

Salt, pepper, tumeric, cumin, and ground cinnamon to taste.


For the Sauce:

28 oz. diced tomatoes

14.5 oz tomato sauce

1/2 diced onion

1/2 cup water

Salt, pepper, tumeric, cumin, and ground cinnamon to taste.


For the Rice:

2 cups rice

2 Tbsp. oil





Israeli Broccoli and Cheese Quiche


28 oz. frozen broccoli drained and defrosted

16 oz. cottage cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese

12 oz. sour cream

5 eggs, beaten

6 Tbsp self rising flour

1/2 tsp. nutmeg




For Decoration only (not mandatory)

Fresh parsley

Red and Yellow Pepper

Cherry Tomatoes

Red Onions





Spaghetti with Alfredo Sauce


1 package of spaghetti noodles or other preferred noodles

1 red onion

2 Tbsp of fresh or dry basil

2 Tbsp nutmeg

3 tsp salt

3 tsp pepper

1 pint (16oz) heavy whipping cream

3.5 oz shredded mozzarella cheese

1.75oz shredded parmesan cheese

Olive oil


Optional: Fresh mushrooms or zucchini
