Molly’s Challah Recipe

 

Ingredients

4 Cups  Flour

1 ½ teaspoon salt

1/3 cup sugar

1 table spoon active dry yeast

2 eggs (1 for recipe 1 for wash)

¼ cup oil

1 cup warm water

 

Directions

Pre-heat oven 350 degrees.

 

Mix dry ingredients except the salt (flour, sugar and yeast).

Add the salt and then mix again.

 

Add egg and oil to the dry ingredients and continue mixing (in a stand-mixer with a dough hook is the easiest).  Slowly add the water and knead until you get smooth soft dough.

 

Let dough rise for about an hour, covered with a towel.  Then braid into a favorite shape.

Let the dough rise again for 20 min.

 

Egg wash the challah and bake for 30-35 minutes.

 

Molly’s Shakshukah Recipe

Ingredients

2 Tbsp. Olive Oil

1 medium onion, diced

1 red bell pepper, seeded and diced

1 garlic clove, finely chopped

2 tsp. sweet paprika

2 tsp. chicken soup powder (parve)

1 28-ounce can diced peeled tomatoes

1 14-ounce can of tomato sauce

6-8 large eggs

Salt and Pepper to taste

1 small bunch fresh parsley, chopped

Baked Cauliflower Head

Ingredients

1 Cauliflower head

1/2 cup Mayonaise

2 Tbsp. Onion Soup Mix

1/4 cup bread brumbs or matzoh meal
